What we store

Bunsu stores the data you give us to run the app: your name, email address, a securely hashed password (never the plaintext), the expenses, settlements, trips and notes you create, and any files you attach to trip entries. If you enable notifications we store an anonymous push subscription so we can deliver reminders.

Signing in with Google

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address and a Google account identifier with us, and we store those to recognise your account. We never see your Google password and we do not access anything else in your Google account. A Google-only account has no Bunsu password unless you set one.

How it's used

Your data is used solely to provide the app to you and the people you share groups and trips with. We do not run third-party analytics or ad trackers, and we do not sell your data. The only third parties that process it are the providers named on this page, each strictly to run one feature.

Subscriptions and payments

Bunsu Master is billed by Google Play. We never see your card or payment details. RevenueCat, our subscription platform, receives your Bunsu user ID, the Google Play purchase token and the subscription status so we can unlock Master on your account; it does not receive your name or email address. Our servers store the subscription status, plan and renewal date.

AI receipt and chat scans

When you use an AI scan (a Master feature), only the photo or screenshot you explicitly choose is sent to Google's Gemini API to read the amounts. Bunsu does not keep the image after the scan; Google processes it under its API terms and does not use it to train its models.

Attachments are temporary

Files attached to trips are automatically deleted when the trip ends, and deleted files are not recoverable. Don't rely on Bunsu as a backup for important documents.

Hosting

Bunsu runs on Cloudflare's infrastructure. Data is stored in Cloudflare D1 (database) and R2 (file storage). Verification and password-reset emails are delivered via Resend.

Deleting your account

You can permanently delete your account from Settings at any time. We remove your personal data, including your subscription record at RevenueCat; shared history (e.g. an expense you were part of) may be retained for the other members of that group in anonymized form. Deleting the account does not cancel a Google Play subscription — cancel it in Google Play first.
